Zen is founded in zazen; a meditation practice transmitted uninterruptedly
and directly since the enlightenment of the historical Buddha more
than 2.600 years ago. It consists in maintaining an immovable posture
and to observe without judgements everything that happens in the
present moment. While we allow our mind to flow without grasping
or rejecting anything, we wake up to the intimate connection of
everything and everybody.
Our practice of zazen shikantaza
comprehends 4 essential points:
1.
Immovable and straight up posture.
2.
Still abdominal breathing.
3.
Semi open eyes, at 45º.
4.
Dropping off everything that appears in mind.
Hands posture
zazen posture
Shikantaza: just sitting.
During zazen we abandon our opinions and our
personal points of view.
Like a mountain watching the passing clouds,
we allow our thoughts to come and go without grasping or rejecting
them
"The zazen I speak of is
not meditation practice. It is simply the dharma gate
of joyful ease, the practice-relization of totally culminated
enlightenment. It is the koan realized; traps and snares
can never reach it. If you grasp the point, you are like
a dragon gaining the water, like a tiger entering to the
mountains. For you must know that the true dhama appears
of itself, so that from the start dullness and distraccion
are struck aside".
